Portable Hard Drive Format

Ive got a little laptop hard drive, and Im getting a case for it to make it a portable USB drive. My home computers are a Macbook with OS X Tiger (soon will be Leopard) and also a linux desktop, usually with either Fedora or Slackware. At work I have an XP computer, but my boss has been threatening me with Vista (ugh!) What file system should I format this hard drive with so it will be readable and writeable on all these computers?
